Default Little help with breaks

I have the chilton book fo a 97 sohc, and all it talks about is the Drums. but on here all of you talk about the rotors. so my question is what does a 97 SOCH have drums or rotors??? and what would it cost to change them my self, just the front? are there rear breaks on this car??

You have to looke at your car and see what you have, all neons are going to have front disc brakes. Go outside and look at the back to see if you have a drum or a disc system and the rear, thats the best way to know.

1. It is SOHC, not SOCH.
2. There was a 4 wheel disc option, but most of them have front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.

I just went through my drum brakes the other day and after I jacked up the car, it took me about 5 minutes to replace the springs and shoes on the one side, then the other side took me about 15 minutes because I had to rebuild the wheel cylinder, which you shouldnt have to do. Disc brakes are just as easy, just follow what the manual says.
