Engine troubles with 96 Neon.
I was given a 96 dodge neon (2.0L SOHC)from one of my ladies coworkers. Has 106k on the odometer and runs somewhat decent. Except.....
After a few minutes on the freeway the engine dies, but all electrical power is there. Wait a few minutes and it starts back up...Did this twice bringing it home....all within 5 miles of leaving her house. took the back roads and it was fine..well at least for 16 miles. The fuel pump was replaced last year, and it hasnt been driven since June......She said it was the alternator, but the battery is fine. Took it to my boys shop today and plugged it into the scanner......got 6 codes...
PO1281 COLD ENGINE TOO LONG
PO740 TCC NO RPM DROP AT LOCKOUT
PO121 TPS VOLTAGE DOES NOT AGREE WITH W/MAP
P1389 NO ASD RELAY OUTPUTVOLTAGE AT PCM...I replaced this relay and it still cut out 2 times in less then a half mile.
PO123 TPS VOLTAGE HIGHER THEN MAX LIMIT
PO320 NO CRANKREF SIGNAL AT PCM
Im gonna guess the ecm might be taking a crap..any ideas??
