ok, my car didn't come with the trunk light, so i picked up the wiring harness that connects to the trunk latch and the light from the JY. but when i got home i noticed my latch did not have the tab sticking out of it for the wire to connect to. can anyone with a light tell me what that lil metal tab in the trunk latch attaches to? its a long way to the JY just to get a different latch when i have a working one. just dont know where to run the wire to with no tab.

 

sorry but from what it looks like you need the latch itself....it's more then just a tab there isstuff inside the latch too[&:]

 

im thinking that your talking about the tab for the ground

 

the ground just goes under the passenger side latch bolt.the other one has a female connector that connects to a metal tab stickin out of a hole on the driverside of the latch. no idea where the tab connects to?

 

I dont know, but I had to un-plug mine, it was a POS that didnt turn off and kept draining the battery.

 

my ground wire has a female connector that goes on that tab......dont have one that goes under the bolt

 

so you don't have 2 wires comin from the 3rd brake light to the latch? one has a big round metal loop to fit under the passenger side latch bolt? and one with a female connector to the tab stickin out the latch? wtf did i get at the JY. musta been one of them mexican made neons!
