i have an auto trans, sohc. this car has been a disaster since i can remeber, but when i come to a light or stop sign, the car basically jumps outta gear, and i have to rev it a little to get it back in...also sometimes when i go to go in reverse, it does the same thing...i know it sounds like its low on fluid, but a few weeks ago, it was low, (doing the things above) and i think i overfilled it, because it started leaking for a few days...im stumped on it...any help would be great, i need this car to get back and forth to school...

 

Adjust your bands as shown here

Then after you've done that check your transmission linkage then as shown in the pic's.

 

thank you for your reply, but i dont have a torque wrench, so is it ok to just estimate.
