Hi,

I was in the process of replacing the drivers side trans mount on my '99 (5 spd) and noticed the shifter cable. Please see picture. Am I just missing the retaining clip or is there more? I wonder how the car has even been shifting properly. Anyone's expertise would be greatly appreciated!

You are missing the shifter bushings, you can get some booger bushings for I think around $30 dollars, this is very common with manual neons.

 

i think the boogers are only $22 from modernperformance and only $20 straight from boogerracing

 

I cut a peice of hose to fit and bent a nail around were the clip goes till i found some bushing i think oreillys has them at some of there stores but it worked realy good. u can also get e-clips from bout any parts store

 

I just ordered the bushings from modern performance. Thanks for the help!!

 

Oh well I did good considering ive never even seen a manual neon in real life
