I have an auto1996 Neon, that is actin up horribly. When the car starts, its coo, but once i get drivin, it seems likes its tryin to shift, but it jerks, especially at 55MPHs, n when i slow down it does it really bad. and when at a complete stop it seems like it wants to shut off, unless i hold my foot on the accelorater. its burnin gas faster then the gas burned in the middle east. i changed the top oxygen sensor, n the sparkplags, n dont wanna put more into it, until i kno wat really could b wrong wit the car. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!

I don't know if these neons have a fuel pressure regulator, but if they do, that could be a possiblity. If you have a fuel pressure gauge I would plug that into the schraedar valve on the fuel rail and monitor your fuel pressure as it is acting up. another thing to try is if you have a voltmeter, hook that up to the signal wire at the o2 sensor. If your readings when it act up are say around .7-1v then you are going way too rich and the problem is either injectors or a fuel pump/fuel regulator. Could also be a leak somewhere in the fuel lines. A buddy of mine's camaro had similar issues but his would eventually cut out after about 5 minutes. Turned out to be a bad fuel pump.
