Default starter sticking

I have a 96 SOHC Neon. Since I bought it i have had a problem on and off with the starter. sometimes i turn the key to start and when i release it the starter keeps running. I have to turn the key on and off a few times to get it stopped. Finally it stuck and i couldnt get it stopped. It burned the starter up. I replaced the starter and the battery cables. Nowwhen i turn the key it wont say a word. I turned the key on and jumped the solenoid terminals with a screwdriver and the starter stuck again. I replaced the ignition switch and it still does the same thing. HELP!!! I need to get this thing on the road this weekend. Any ideas???

Thanks!

Did you replace the solenoid?

I think i have it fixed now. When i put the new switch in the starter fuse was blown. It apparently had a short somewhere because every time i put a fuse in it would immidiately blow. I traced all the wires but couldn't find a short. i taped the wires back up and it is working so far. It is working fine with the old ignition switch, Could thesolenoid have been the problem with the startersticking? I would hate to take the ignition switch back only to find out that i need it.
