Default Which engines interchange

I have a 95 Neon with 2.0L SOHC I am tryingto sell theengine but everything I read says it will only go into 95 and not 96-99. Can anyone tell me whats different about the 95 engine and theother years 96-99 or 2000-2003? Can my 95 engine go into other Neons? will it fit other cars beside a neon?
THanks...

AS FAR AS I KNOW, that motor will fit any first gen neon, as long as it was a SOHC, if you swapinto a DOHC cari think you'll be runnin into some wire'n that will have to be changed. and i also believe the side motor mount is different on the second gen neons... i could be wrong but thats what i think.

as a direct straight up swap, it will only go into the 95.....in order for the motor to fit into other years, the intake manifold and all the sensors have to be changed

In other words if the car your engine is going into is complete .Say it has a blown engine ,your block and head (long block)should go right in. you might have to spliceasensor plug or two.I pulled my engine out in AM stuck in a 98 engineand was running by the evening.DOHC.Are sohc's any dirrerent?

the wiring harness is slightly different on the sohc to dohc....mostly being that some of the wires for a few plugs have to be extended for a dohc to work in a sohc car.....

the biggest difference between 95 sohc's and 96-99 sohc's in that the 95 runs 2 sensors on the intake manifold for MAP and IAT.....96-99 have the 2 sensors combined into 1.......
but if you wanna get really technical, 95's have a bigger cam and use a different crank and main bearings then 96-99 sohc's

Yes I am well aware of the differences between the sohc and dohc. Let me rephrase my scenerio. I stuck a 98 long block into my 95 with very minor changes. Steve's long block sohc should go into any 95 to 99 sohc neon as long as all the components are in place in the recieving car. I wasn't refering to the difference between the sohc and dohc.If that makes any sense.
