you are supposed to use premium...mostly for timing reasons, but it wont hurt anything if you use 87 octane

You do realize he said you WONT hurt anything with 87 octane, right?[>:] Paying almost 3.50 for premium sucks. I just filled up myturbo Neon and the total was almost 40 bucks to fill.[:@]But it must be done. I say if you have a high compression or force inducedmotor than Premium fuel definately. If just a stocker, save some money and go 87 octane.

i use 93 in my red r/t all the time....but thats only because of the turbo...once the turbo gets off the car, i will be back to 87 octane

I used 87 in my old 99 DOHC all the time and it ran fine. Seemed to be a little peppier with 93 and a little bit better MPG, but still ran fine with 87.

Funny, I was just looking through the owners manual the other day and saw this. It says run 89 octane, but a minimum of 87. So, I would say you are fine running 87.

great thanks everbody for the replies I just want to make sure i am not hurting anything by running 87 on it, it doesn't knock so it should be OK but I want to make car last me a few years and If I need to run 93 I would as it would be cheaper to spens a few dollars at the pump than to put a new motor in it
