alrighty, I was trying to ask which way I should go? as in should I stay with a 4 cyl? currently have a 2.0L dohc sitting in garage, or save up for a 2.4L srt-4, or could I take a v6 from a writen off dodge avenger and mate it into the car? reason I am asking is I want to be the quickest 2 door neon in my city. we have lots of srt4's but no 2 door neons with any ***** for racing. I want mine to be the first, plus I want to spank some of the cocky imports out there that say domestics will never be up to par with import racing.

wow!!! that is impressive, a supercharged v6 neon, I don't want to go that far but now i know a v6 can be put in. but in all your guys opinions, should I build up my 2.0 dohc, or go for a v6? I will be trying for turboing whichever engine goes into it and i was also looking maybe at a small shot of nitros. basicly I want it as fast as I can get it to go in a 1/4 mile race and not kill myself. just want to kill the import cars.

There was a 350 Chevy in a Neon posted on the forum not too long ago.....
Quite honestly, the Chevy V8 motors are the cheapest V8's to use, along with some of the most abundant for parts.....
If we're talkin the old school Hemi, its a no brainer.......but the current version is still 2nd rate when compared to current Chevy V8's...at least when it comes to price and mods..... I wont question power..

well i was looking into a v8 neon in a two door 96 that i used to own, problem with a v8 is u would have to make it real wheel drive, and the torgue on a v8 would twist a neon, but to get the room for the axle is another problem, so it would be pritty much a complete structural rebuild, and if anyone has checked the price of steel, it would be very very pricy to do it..... a 318 would fit in a neon engine bay, but as for the radiator i never got that far to figure it out..... more than likley the firewall would have to get moved back some..... when i was looking at doing it i wanted to keep it looking stock, with a small hood scoop, about three inch.... and be at a stock ride height or somewhat close to. it was going to be very very expensive to do, and i scaped the idea....... it would of been different, and prolly one hell of a ride, but money does not grow on trees...lol
