Used engine trouble
Well i got a used engine from the junk yard and put on new timing belt oil pump and so on. With oil in the engine and cylinders the starter wont turn in over. When i do it manual and turn the balancer pully. it is hard to turn and it gets to a stick point every now and then. But it does turn. This is all with no spark plugs in it. What do you guys think?

Now is the starter the starter that was on the engine at the junk yard or did you take the starter off your old motor???
Does it make noise like its trying to turn it over???
Try takeing the top inspection plate off your transmission and have some one try to start it see if the flywheel is moving at all.
The pic below shows what you should be looking at to see if it moves...

Off the old engine and yes it makes the noise when i turn it myself, the starter can kind of turn it when it at the easier point. Yes the flywheel is moving.
