Back to the Neon lol.

Recently I've had this humming sound coming from the front passenger side. Its been getting worse from when I first noticed it. It increases at the same rate as the car's speed. Also, when I goose it on the highway, it will pull quite hard to the right, and I have to counter-steer a decent amount to keep it on the road, it has never done this before. Tie rod ends and ball joints were new this summer, front end bushings were done last summer. Tire pressure is good, I had the car in the air, didn't seem to be any play in the bearing, but maybe I should be checking it a different way.

Or is there somewhere else I should look besides the auto trader....

Edit: The sound goes away when I turn to the right.

 

um may try replacing the hub

 

easyest way to find out if its the hub is to get the front in the air and then push on the top of the side wall and try to wiggle it back and forth... it allmost sounds like you cv is going out...or is just bad all together...

 

you must be talking about the wheel bearing.

most likely your problem

 

sounds like a wheel bearing to me sometimes they will start roaring before they get noticable slack in them

 

I was leaning towards CV aswell, because I can't seem to get any play out of the bearing. Maybe I'll try some extra force on it tomorrow, see what comes from that.
