I have a 98 neon. Since last month, I noticed that the gas millege dropped to 15-20/galon, which is way below the normal 30/galon. And I can sometimes smelled exhaust after I just got out of the car. I took it to the auto shop. They did not tell me anything wrong, just asked me to buy a bottle of fuel injector cleaner.
Anybody had the same problem before? any possible suggestions?

sounds like your catalytic converter could be plugged up. have you noticed a lack of power?

 

i had thatt problem before, check ur egr, thats more than likely a big culprit
