a guy i know just changed his motor and now when he puts it in gear and lets go of the clutch it grinds and its like the clutch doesnt grab,,,,,does anyone have any ideas,,oh and he has a 98 sohc..Thanks

prolly isnt goin into gear all the way, if it was a clutch problem it would more than likely just slip and not move?

Make sure you have the flywheel and everything hooked up right? I think there is a inspection plate where the front motor mount hooks up at the very bottom. Maybe look in there see if everything looks good.

try this easy fix first....it litterally is like a .02cent fix...

pull out on the clutch cable where it connects to the bell housing dont undo it from the clutch just pull it out a ways and get a wider ziptie and put it around the shaft that acually goes into the bellhousing to hold it out a bit... heres a pic...
