I would think they would work just fine, but as far as I know the rods in the neon engine are the weakest part...

i know the stock rods arent all that great, but i dont wanna spend any more money then i have to.....i dont think this car will be around for ever, i just want more pep out of it in the mean time.....
if stock rods can handle almost 10 pounds of boost, then i dont see why they wouldnt handle 10.5:1 compression

Im not saying they wouldnt, but I would just hate to see you build another motor and have it fail again

Of course I forget who I am talking to here, you would just pull it out, grab another block, throw in an extra rod, and have it driving again in 3 hours

I have seen lots of 4cyl cars fail even from just doing new head gaskets, you restore all that lost compression and poof!

Cant quite compare 10psi and 10.5.1 compression.

A turbo motor only sees that 10psi on hard acceleration, so technicly its only seeing boost very little.

A high compression motor is at high compression constanly and always being pounded on!!

yeah i know but my motor was always being beat on.....not to mention that i was running 8psi on a stock internal motor with 190,000 miles on it

i still have my 190,000 mile motor that i plan on kpping as a back up just incase anything happens with this one to....
i guess i might just give JE a call and see what they say
