Question about UD pulley
I recently bought a megan UD pulley for my neon I am more familiar with old school muscle cars and it says that it saves 5-8lbs over stock the one I purchased still probably weights 3-4 lbs so that would mean that factory pulley would weight around 8-10 lbs is this really the case it doesn't look like it would be that heavy, I haven't replaced it yet to weight it as I am waiting for warmer weather, or is a typo and they mean it will free up 5-8 HP with the reduced weight
Thanks for any info
I was looking at the srt-4 pages and several people commented that this has shortened the life of the alt and PS pump anyone ever had any issues with this as I am looking for reliablity also if this is the case I would rather keep the factory pulley on as I would rather have reliablity than the few extra horses I would gain in weight savings
Thanks for any info

i jsut bought the megan racing pulley..i havent installed it yet ..but i was jsut curious ...do u actually feel the difference or not ...i mean its obviosly alot lighter..but ive bought several bolt ons that say "adds 14 horse" and i dnt seem to feel the difference
I haven't put mine on yet but when I was younger and was messing with muscle cars many times you can't feel the difference but its there the best way to check is to time it accurately ie dragstrip the local dragstrip used to have a test and tune for street cars where for a few dollars you can time you runs and that is where you see what the mods have done what I used to is make a few runs to get a good average and then make my mods and take back the next week and see what it runs most mods you won't a huge differance in time but it will be just a bit quicker the lightweight pulley really makes the engine rev quicker due to less rotating mass on the crank so you probably won't see a huge gain in HP
