short and long block

this wouldnt be anything like a small and big block would it? cause im looking in getting an engine off howell...and just wanna know the diff.

Short block is the engine assembled with the crank, rods, bearings, and pistons. The long block comes with everything the short block has, but also had the head, cam, sometimes valve cover and oil pan.
