my girl friends 95 sohc neon dies when you push the brakes. it will go into reverse, drive, and drive aroundif you dont apply the brakes. idisconnected the brake booster to see if thats the problem didnt help. the car was tooken apart when we got it. it needed new valves from a timing belt going bad. the car idels and runs fine just the brake problems any ideas ????

 

Almost sounds like a vaccum problem with the vaccum assist brakes stealing too much vaccum from the engine causing it to idle like crap when brakes are applied.

 

sounds like ur torque converter is stuck in lock-up.

 

Try and check the ground wires, a friend had one in the shop a few months back and it died when you deppressed the breaks and he found that it was a bad ground wire.
