Default Gauges kept going Down while running

During driving, all gauges and radio would quit then work again. I have checked battery (13.1v) and with engine running 14.8v. When stooped tried to start car, it would not start. then with key in switch, dome light went dim and auto door locks kept going up and down. I have checked all battery connections and belts. Any Ideas??

I had a similar problem. My car would not start and then after a jump my guages / radio and all other electronics would go on and then off. I had to hold the gas a little to keep the car running for the first 5 mins after the jump or else the pcm would shut it off and my rev's would drop then go back up. I thought it was a dead alternator because I could not think why else the battery would not charge up as I drove. I ended up taking it to my mechanic to hook up and test the alternator however when that passed he did a battery test and that also passed. He took off the battery cables and gave them a good cleaning and tested all electronics again. The car worked fine ever since and aparently was not making a good enough connection with the battery. Try a good cleaning before buying new parts.

couple possible problems come to mind, i had a similar issue in both my cavalier and my neon, in my cavalier, it happened A) when the alternator started to go bad and B) when i had a faulty ground wire

in the neon i have now, i turned out to be the guage cluster itself was bad, however only my speedo was cutting out in that particular problem, bouncing up and down between 0-100
