I wanna do a 2.4l swap(naturally aspirated)from a 01 Pt Cruiser. So my questions and concerns are as follows. I have a great deal of mechanical knowledge but not a whole lot on the wiring harness. What wiring harness mods should i expect? Can I use a 98-99 2.0 DOHC pcm from a mtx neon? Will I be able to use the harness I have or buy a new one, etc...? If I have to buy a new one which harness would be ideal for the swap.The neon is a '99 2-door 2.0 SOHC with a atx. I already know what to expect to convert it to a mtx. I think the TH350 will bolt up but I would like to be sure before I invest in the pt motor. All input would be greatly appreciated.

 

motor is fine for the swap...

do you have a 97-99 wiring harness off of a 2.0 and the motor to match it...

 

The wiring harness is a '99 neon atx. The pcm matches. What wiring harness mods will I need to make, and the trans will bolt up.

 

trans will bolt right up and work just fine... athough many people are going to tell you to swap to mtx... I say what ever you want to do is your buisness... but yes it will swap... there isent really that much wiring you will have to do....

In all honesty I wanna make it reliable and still run mid 13's. Would this be the best baseline combo(2.4l w/ mtx 3.94 ratio)? Or should I try and find a 2.0 Magnum. What's the difference between the 2.0 mag and the regular 2.0 (is it just compression)?
