well i have 2 neons 1 is a 96 and the other is a 97. the 97 came with a dohc auto in it stock but that blow up so the kid that had it be4 me put a 95 motor in it and it never ran good at all(wired it up like ****). i picked it up from him for nothing so i pulled the motor out. my 96 is in bad shape but the tranny is good so i pulled the motor out of that. so i im using the 95 motorwith the96 5 speed. the motor and tranny went in with no problem but cant get it started it cranks and cranks. it started once for like 3 sec but then turned off. o ya im using the 96 wire harness and 96 computer. i had to change 1 or 2 sensers and i had to depin one plug that goes to the relay box. i think i got that right all colors are the same but 2 were different.i dont know if some one has ever done this be4 but i can use the help.


if this doesnt make sence sorry its been 2 long days and nights.
i would be working on it now but damn old peaple have to call the cops and say the air tools are to noise so the cops said stop working on it for tonight. but again anyhelp help would be very helpfully.

does it have good fuel pressure, spark?

 

nevermind i got it running but now i have a problem with the fans. i think i have to change the senser but that will get done in the morning it been a long day starrted at 8:00 and just got done. but thanks 12 voltfor the fast response. i found out today that the sohc will not start if the manifold hooked up. thats the reason it didnt start. once i hooked it up it started up after a little cranking.
