I had to change the clutch in my 97 Neon and in the process my friend removed a black support like bracket that's about 1 foot in length and is held in place with 2 blts at each end. Looking at the desing it has about a 45 dgr angle at each end with a slight curve in the middle that looks as though it lets something pass next to it. He said he took it off of the back the transmission area and it had to be removed in order t drop the transmission. It looks as though it went next to that little shock absorber that connects to the top of the tranny next to the shift linkage and connects at the other end to the frame.
If i its what I am thinking it goes behind then engine. Towards the tranny side. I want to say it bolts to the trenny and the engine. I will look today and let you know if no one else chimes in.
Ok but the way I'm situated under the car I will be on my back with my legs sticking out of the front of the vehicle. I will be looking at the back of the engine. It has to connected at both ends is one to the transmission where it blts the engine and the other where you stated????????????????
