Default Heater not warm till driving

ok so i went out this morning to start my car to let it warm up b4 i go to school and i get out there and the temp guage is in the middle so i turn on the heater and the air is freezing,, but i figured i would leave it on just to see so when i started driving the air got really warm any reason for this?? just kinda confused as to why it would do this

could have a sticky water valve for the heater core... think that thing is vacuum operated and it may not have had enough vacuum to open it at idle.

josh this is typical for monata and neons... Mine does the same thing... it best to go out and start your car and imediately turn your heater on, go inside and wait 10 mins... for some reason due to the humidity here when you let the car warm up and then turn the heater on it blows cold hell i even get snow coming out the vents due to the humididty freezing in the vent tubes.... it's normall...
