Default Problem: Reverse lights stay on even out of reverse?

Hello everyone. For some reason the neons reverse lights stay on even when not in reverse. This doesn't happen all of the time but does happen. It occurs more often when the rear refrost button is on. Its annoying so I searched the forums and didnt find a solution. So I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem might be. By the way the transmission is manual. I read somewhere that it might be the neutral safety switch, but I am not 100% sure and don't want to spend the money on a new switch if thats not going to solve the problem.

And another little problem I have is occasionaly the blink stays on and solid if I am in the middle of turning the wheel, and if I try to turn the signal off manually by pushing the signal switch down it doesn't go off smoothly. Anyone have any ideas? TIA!

just pull ur reverse light controller out.
its a blue tipped conector behind and below ur battery
clips into i wanna say top of tranny
then ur light will never come on, haha

as fr your extened turn signal, check to see if the actualt thing u flick up and down to signal isnt jammed then check ur bulbs
sometimes if a bulb is gogin bad, it causes a unbalanced circuit and i have had my blinkers lights stay on shut off randomly flash

other than that
i dunno, not a mechanic

The blinker switch is going out... acually common on neons...

as far as the reverse lights go... take it out... clean up the threads put a few rounds of plumbers tape on the threads (important) and tq it to 24 lb pounds... do not over tighten...

the sensor... at the bottom of the sensor theres like a nut that you can get on with a wrench... or fit a deep well over and tq it down... if you go in to deep they will always be on... to shallow will never work... theres a thin line on how tight in needs to be... thats why you need the plumbers tape on there... you dont just crank it down just far enuf to get 24 ft. lbs... the plumbers tape will hold it in place...
