So in california, almost all cars, regardless of what tranny they had, mtx or atx, they almost all got the smaller mtx throttle body

I went to the junkyard today, and out of 10 atx cars, 8 had the mtx throttle body

in addition, both my mtx and atx cars had the mtx tb

just in case anyone posts a question about switching throttle bodys again, check where they live, cause it could confuse the crap out of someone with our stupid low emissions engines and tiny throttle bodys

at least i found someone thats willing to look the other way on my mods as long as it passes the sniffer test

 

They both measure 52 mm on the top. The ATX TB is 52mm all the way through.

 

when i first got mine i thoguht it was the same size also.. then the atx doesnt look like a funnel

 

well, at first i thought they all had that funnel, cause both my atx and mtx had it, then i went to a junkyard, and all the tbs there had the funnel, atx or mtx, then finally yesturday at a very large junkyard, i found 3 that were straight thru, no funnel, but, all 3 cars that they came off of were out of state plates, and 7 other atx cars with cali plates had the funneled tbs

sucks, i think the tlev engines all came with the small one, i looked for 2 months to find one without the funnel, however, i bought 2, put on on my atx immediately, the car has nothing but a glasspack and underdrive pulley, and it made a very big differance, im switching the throttle shafts on the other one so i can throw it on my mtx tonight
