Default Engine won't turn on

I have a SHOC 95 neon,Ihad my car take a full engine diognastic done to check for any problems. I found out that I needed to change the open valve gasket, sparkplugs and wires because oil was leaking into the fourth cylinder.
When I got the parts, I acciden;t got DHOC parts instead of SHOC. When we triedto change gaskets we obviously found out that it was a wrong part. We went back to get a SHOC gasket(we still didn't realiza we had DHOC spark set). After we change the gasket and spark plug tubes we went ahead and put the DHOCplugs and wires.(without realizing we had the wrong part) After the install we tried turning on the vehicle but it wouldn't idle. After trying for a few mins I realized that I had the wrong plugs. We went back, got all SHOC parts, and installed the correct plugs and wires. We tried turning on the vehicle yet it wouldn't stay idle, we had finally got it on yet it was shaking quite a bit. We tried to keep it running by pressing the gas to see if it would correct itself. After it shut off after a minute or two we realized that we had the third wire connected to the fourth plug and the fourth wire to the third plug. We fixed it and double checked everything to make sure we had it. After so many tries of turning on the vehicle, the battery was losing charge so we had to keep it charged with another vehicle with jumpers. We took a look at the spark plugs and made sure the gap measurment was correct and cleaned them since they were covered by a lot of oil. Even after trying to use starter fluid it won't start. If any1 could give any advice, thanks

There is no difference between SOHC and DOHC plugs. They both use Copper Champions gapped at 0.035". What is the "open valve gasket"?

its also called a head gasket, I already checked if it was leaking fluid and it wasn't, there was oil in one of the tubes where the spark plug was at and I tried cleaning as much of it as I could. Yet when I pulled the plug out I think some oil when in the combustion chamber.

Did you fix the spark plug seal? Oil down there wont hurt it. It will burn out. Make sure your coil plug wires are on there good. You hooked back up the pvc valve hose? Check to see if your getting spark. By pulling the wire and using a screw driver in there close to the metal on the car.

I'm getting sparks and I checked the PCV valve and it still won't idle.
