98 Neon - overheating, leaking HELP!
I have a 98 dodge Neon 2.0 DOHC. I am losing a lot of water running down the the inside passenger side of the engine compartment. The car starts and runs perfectly, but after heating up to normal operating temperature water starts to stream out, also there is boiling in the reservoir bottle.
Indications were that it might be the water pump so I replaced the water pump ( which was shot ) the thermostat, the upper radiator hose and radiator cap and that seemed to work for about 20 minutes of driving, all of a sudden it started to overheat again. I pulled over and again a heavy water leak from pretty much the same area. It seems to be running down the passenger side of the engine but I can't see down in there because its so tight.
Any Ideas where the water might be coming from. Are there any hoses or freeze plugs on that side? I also tried one of those block seal additives to no avail. The car still runs great, there is no water in the oil, there is no smoke coming out of the engine or the exhaust. I'm stumped.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it’s running down the firewall on the outside or on the inside of the passenger compartment I’d check the heater core and the hoses going to and from the heater core.
if you can remove or re-position your stock air intake box temporarily you may be able to see where the water is coming from more clearly. remember - the overflow is on the side. i would double-check on the thermostat. make sure you didnt replace a good part with a somehow defective one.
Well I sort of have the same problem, except I never replaced anything. I had a leak I couldn't figure out where it was coming from until I did a little test. I filled up my coolant container all the way to the top, and I noticed it was streaming out from a crack in my container. Maybe your container has a hole and barely any coolant is going into your radiator. I noticed I have to keep putting coolant in mine every now and then, and she runs just fine. Mine boiled to, but that was because I didn't have any coolant left.
