i've a '96 neon and I've fried my battery. i checked the voltage coming from my alternator and the reading is 16.2 volt. What is causing the alternater to overcharge and does anyone know what the fix is?? I had the alternator checked and it checks ok.. I got another just in case and it does the same thing. What's up with that?? jcHelp Please

 

Your voltage regulator is to blame and its inside of the alternator.
