Default needed: stock 97 MTX computer

well im doing the atx to mtx swap, since my 97 atx gets 27 mpg tops with a slipping tranny, and my 96 autocross project car can easily get 40 on the freeway

i need to find a stock computer from a 97-99 mtx sohc, maybe one of you that switch from stock to a mopar or afx unit could help, if anyone has one, pm me asap

i cant use the mopar performance pcm, it will not pass smog in a california sold car

i have already checked with the smog people, dodge dealers, chp and the dmv referee (the guy who you have to take your car to if you do an engine swap in order to register it in california)

Thanks,
Chris

well thats the problem, i have an atx computer, and from everything ive read, you have to change to an mtx computer to sp trannys, problem is, i cant find a stock mtx computer anywhere

local pick n pull has about 15 neons, only 5 are mtx and none had there computers, checked 7 other junkyards and i cant find a single one that has a mtx computer, and i cant find anyone on either of the boards thats selling one for my year

im going down to the chp headquarters today, turns out the mopar performance computer has a carb number, which should make it legal, however theres an exception on it, it says it is only exempted if it has the stock computer part number, which the mp units dont have, so either someone screwed up, or something weird is going on, ill post when i know more
