gas tanks are usually fatter, widder at the top and more rounded andangled at the bottom... hence they hold more fuel above the middle line than they do at the bottom.

so anyone ever notice gas seems to last a long time when its above The Full mark.. it always seems to go a long while above the Full but once it gets past there it sucks it down kinda quik...
