Default Balanced Crank?

I am tring to decide whether to fit new pistons with a new bore and torque plate hone to fit or just fit new rings and go. My concern is that I would or should have the rotating assembly rebalanced after oversize pistons are installed. The motor was incredibly clean on the inside and ran with very little vibration. I will check the bore today when it comes out of the cooker. The car lost the self starting function when cranking because of an overheated situation. Bad guage pac caused a leaking overflow tank to go unnoticed and a blown head gasket caused the coolant to be pressurized. I thought a refresh was in order because of the 200K on the motor. This is a guess because the guage pack has been intermittant for the past 8 years (my bad). Motor is DOHC!
Thanks in advance,
Steve

if your wanting the motor to last another long time then it wouldnt hurt to just get new pistons, rings, bearings...everything...
then you wont have to worry about the motor for a long time...
just my opinion though

Depends on what you are ultimatly looking for out of the car. If you are just looking for a dependible daily driver then I would not spend too much money on it. If you are looking to add some power and build the motor you are better off doing the pistons and such
