Default Brakes

hey guys, got a few questions.

1) for the rear disc brake conversion do you have to swap out the knuckle? or will the original one that the drums are on work?

2) does anyone make big brake upgrades for our neons?

3) I was lookin into master brake cylinder, wats the diff between drums and disc for the master cylinder? do I have to change that too when doin the conversion?

sorry for all the questions, I've looked around before I posted, cant find any posts that answers my questions

1. no, but it is easyer to swap the whole thing https://dodgeforum.com/m_682777/tm.htm

2. no, but you can swap to SRT4 or PT knuckles and they make kits for thows(PT ones need somemoding to work correctly)
you can find SRT4 ones at this site. You can use 2nd gen rotors whitch are thicker and stay cooler that 1gen ones

3. im pretty sure that the4 wheel disc MC was bigger, but you dont need to swap it.

By the way the OEM rear drums stop better than the rear discs. The proportion valve system doesnt take advantagefor rear discs

The Master cylinder is the same however the proportion valves are different on the disc then the drums... most dont swap the master cylinder and it will work just fine, however there is a seperate proportioning valve system for the disc brakes witch cause them to work just a hair better then the drums, not much something like 8 foot from 100mph to 0mph ... not really an upgrade just for looks type of thing... there is a slight weight savings but is ballanced out from not swapping the proportioning valves....

I dident swap my proporting valves and it works just fine... stops just like a stock neon with drums would... just looks a bit better behind wheels...

i was told the the disc one is slightly bigger

never said it wouldnt

i didnt too, im just saying its not going to take full advantage of the design because the dics require more volume. one thing that i know for sure is when i swaped back to drums the car stoped better
