Default timing belt

Ive read the posts on this forum about damaging valves when the timing belt breaks with the DOHC engines, does this hold true with SOHC engines. I bought mine used its got 150K. Still have not found out why car dies when it wants to, seems to hapen more in RH turns after its warmed up, Im thinking maybe a crank senor next.

When my idler pully seized up on me (96 SOHC ACR) and took out the timing belt, it bent about 5-6 valves.

Compression check the engine. CHeap and easy way. Mine testing at about 160-170 across all of them on my sohc with 150k.

The 2.0 requires 8.8 to 1 compression pistions to become non interferance... the 2.4 is non interferance.
