Default 1998 Dodge neon A/C

I have a neon and brought it in to Car X to get the A/c recharged. After charging the compressor would not kick on when it was running of just the car. When they hot wired it it worked fine. They ended up getting a new switch fuse for it but that didn't work. They ended up telling me that it could be the pcm. Does any one have a clue if that could be right because i dont want to change the cars computer just because they "think" its that.

I didnt know that ecu controlled a/c? There is a relay in the fuse box inside the car. You checked that?

They replaced the relay under the hood and it would still only kick on when hotwired directly to the compressor. They said the ecu/pcm what ever grounded the ac compressor and when it was supposed to read 0 volts it was still reading 12. I just think that it is kind of odd that i would have to replace he whole computer

you could always wire it direct and put a switch inside.

Did you check the relay in the car? Its right under the fuses. I think its the one closer to the firewall. It says on ur fuse cap.
