Short Shifter
i was looking around and i came to the conclustion if i cut my shifter it will be shorter (congrads to me) but im wondering if/how you can use the stock or aftermakrt **** on it
that WILL NOT be a short throw shifter
it may seem like it but it is not
but if u just cut it you can still use the stock **** as long as there is enough left that the pins still fit and aftermarket ***** just bolt rite on

the throw will seem shorter because the distance that the **** travels will be shorter. because you are changing the geometry of the angle above the "ball."
to really gain shorter throws, you need to change the location of the ball on the shaft. Remember - the ball will always rest in the same place, and the transmission cables will always move the same distance to change the gears.
visuals help me see - lol - so i added a diagram
