well i went to change out the stock radio to a aftermarket cd player and there is this wire that was screwed into the back of the radio do i just screw the wire into the bak of the cd player cuz last time i did the cd player seemed to b on the whole time even with the car off. if you know wat im talkin about then please help me out

 

Is it a black wire? I assume its the ground. You dont need it but you can hook it up to the ground wire that comes off the cd player. The antenna is a ground also.

 

weel there is the harness and the antenna i kno but this one has an extra black wire my moms escort dont have this wire but i was curious if screwing it into the back of the cd player (that spot you can screw something into on the center of the back of any cd player) or wat?

 

Yea its your ground. Cut the tip off. Skin it. And hook it to the ground on the back of the cd player. Its the black wire that comes out the back of it. Then your cd player will have ground. You can hook it to the back if you want also. Its just a ground. Either hook it to the ground or something metal on the cd player...

 

ill take pictures of it tomorrow but the previous owner had it screwed into the center of the back of the radio separate from the black wire of the harness which i know is a ground

 

Cool. Its still a ground if its hooked to metal on the cd player. I know what ur talking about. I have installed cd players on 10+ neons. Just hook it up. Installing a cd player on a neon is easy. I did it when I was 14. Black=ground. Wires hooked to metal surfaces=ground.
