Talking Silent engine

ok i have a 96 neon and i'm working on the engine as of now...i'm not the smartest guy when it comes to working under the hood but i was wondering what are some things i can do to get my engine to run a little quieter? and plz no smart comments like "buy a new neon, or buy a new engine".
keep in mind its not super load or anything, the best way i can explain it is that it sounds like a 96 neon lol i would like for it to be silent though.. the engine kind of shakes also so maybe thats part of the problem? idk

uh...of the series replies, the most likely issue you have is the motor mounts.
But I really like dynomat too--if you find there's no broken mounts and/or can't get quiet enough you can put little patches here and there to quiet it down.

yes your mounts are most likely bad if the engine shakes so buy some new motor mounts and buy a dynomat you would never even be able to tell
