You don't have to add solder, but sometimes it helps.

 

I haven't popped the cluster out yet, but will this weekend. Resoldering the connectors correctly isn't a problem. I've been an electronics tech for 25 years. I'll pop the cluster out this weekend and have a look see. Thanks for all the suggestions!

 

You should be able to do it blindfolded then.

 

I finally got around to popping the cluster out. Cracked solder joints like some of you have said. Works like a champ now. Thanks!
