Default Automatic

I have an auto tranny and was wondering since the throttle body is 52 mm stock should I go with 60mm? The manual is 49 mm stock and I've heard that you shouldnt go 60 mm unless you want to go turbo. Does this apply to automatics too since they have a 52mm tb to begin with or would 60 mm make me loose low end?

Default RE: Automatic

If you have a first gen Neon remember that your transmission is only a 3 speed first of all, so you can do nearly all the upgrades you want, but you still won't match a 5 speed with the same upgrades. I think a 60 mm is overkill on a MTX or an ATX. Unless you plan to do headwork, huge cams, or go with a turbo set up. BTW someone now makes a 57 mm bore TB, I believe. You may want to check into that. If you still want to go with the 60 mm TB, you may want to port match the intake manifold.
