98 Neon w/ 5-speed and the little bushings are missing at the ends of the cables where they attach to the transmission. Can I buy just the bushings or do I need to replace the entire cable? Also, does this car have a mechanical speedometer cable or is it an electrical sensor?

Booger bushings makes some. Try modern performance, or howell automotive. One of the two will have the bushings.

 

the neons have an electrical speedometer ran off the speed sensor in the tranny.
booger bushings are the best bet for the shifter bushing and only run about $20 you can even find them on ebay
