Default egr blocked off

ok when my tranny was out i decided to do the egr block off with 6 cents.. would that mess with my hp or acceleration in anyway??? and sometimes when i get on it it smells like gas isnt getn burnt all of the way.. anyway was this a good idea to do or no??? im goin n/a with my car... should i unblock it again???

it would help or hurt your hp.
though instead of using the 6 cent method, it might have been better to just spend $3 on a piece of 1/8" aluminum plate to make block off plates....just incase you would ever want to reinstall the egr

Well i unblocked it and i dont really notice a difference but now when i stomp into it it seems to b a lil bite slower on acceleration now. before my tranny went out i could do 118. now i car barely do 105. idk whats different. all that i did different is but a different clutch set up in instead of the modular clutch setup.. thanks

I blocked mine with a treaded pipe plug sometime back. I did not notice any change except a check engine light and less MPG. The ECU can test the EGR and send an alarm code, though I forgot the number. EGR only works when car is warm and not in WOT so performance shouldn't suffer.
