Question Got a lil problem (hard to explain)

so im gonna try my best to explain whats wrong with my neon. This will happen a few times a day (i travel about 50+ miles a day) im doing my everyday normal driving not getting into it just regular shifting. Im pushing down on the gas and once in awhile the car just does nothing. Im pushing on the accelerator but nothing is going on. After usually like 1 sec sometimes longer the car shifts back into gear i guess and drives normal. Also once in awhile it does a little more extreme of what i just described. It does like constant studder of what i described real quick like a jerking back and forth. Im stumped as to what it is. any ideas?

also on a side note when i make RIGHT hand turns my passenger side by the front tire makes a knocking noise. Any clues on that?
Thanks for any help guys.

The car shifts back into gear? I am lost. Is this a auto or manual?

this jumping in and out of gear depending on your transmission can be two possible things. oNE IF YOU HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION, YOU COULD HAVE A GEAR THAT HAS BROKEN LOOSE INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION, HOWEVER IF YOU HAVE A AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IT COULD BE A SOLENOID OR SENSOR THAT TELLS THE TRANSMISSION WHEN TO SHIFT. HEY GOOD LUCK. LET US KNOW WHAT HAPPENS
