Question burnt hose problem

I have a hose on my passenger side of my neon that came out of the clip and was rubbing on the crank pulley. any one know what that hose goes to haven't had a chance to look at it i live in an apartment and no garage, a real bummer. if any one knows that would be great. it attaches right across from the crank pulley on the body in a clip. It has about a 3 inch hole burnt through it

if is probally the hose for the evap purge canister....
about 6 inches back from the hole that rubbed in it, the hose should connect to a steel line...on the other end, it would connect to the purge box behind the front bumper....
its not a major operating component, but it would be a good idea to replace the line..

the steel line it connects to runs back to the top of the fuel tank....
the purge system removes gas vapor from the tanks and recycles it into your motor
