R-134a is legal to discharge in ohio last i checked. just do an evac by using a valve stem removal tool, there is a port on one of the lines, just remove the core slowly and stand back, best to use gloves.

i think it's legal here too, so i just pushed it in with a screwdriver with the compressor on until i didn't here it hissing anymore and started to take the box out.

so how did the project of taking out the power steering pump and ac compressor come along?

I knew a guy who nicked an aluminum tube with an angle grinder once... But most NAPA has the vacumes for that. Its the oposite of filling up your tires.
