Motor Stops without warning
okay, I have had this happen sporadically since I nought the car, a 95 neon; driving along, everything'ss fine, motor dies; will not start, no matter what....for about ten minutes, then it wil start right up and be okay for..a week, an hour a day, it is totally unpredictable. I noticed today when it did it that the check engine light does not come on when it won't start; I left the ignition on, and after a few minutes, there was a like realy clunk somewhere and it started rigt up; did it twice today, hasn't done it in four ohts prior, why now? Any ideas? I replaced the auto run or auto stop relay, but no change. "Seems" like something is shutting down part of the ignition circuitry for a while, then turning it back on. Has anyone any idea what it is? Is ther a way to bypass whatever is shutting it down? Help!
Oh and I forgot to mention, motor is stock except for the 55 mm TB, and it turns over fine; new gas pump recently, which has had no effect whatsoever on this problem. Starter is good.
