Default Oil seepage from Camshaft position sensor area.

Was underneath the car this weekend and noticed it was covered in oil. I traced it back up and found the source to be from right around the camshaft position sensor area.

Does this mean I need a new sensor or is there a seal that i can replace?

called my local stealership. They have the O-ring separately for less than 5 bucks out the door. Im planning on slapping one in and at the same time use a thin bead of high temp silicone to make sure it seals good.

Thanks for the help all.

your best bet is to go to the hardware store for the o-ring. the seals are made in all shapes and sizes and are much cheaper than the stealerships prices.

Yeah, but for about $5 ain't bad at all for a seal that is from the factory.

But... You cant tell me you don't feel like you are getting raped when you pay $5 for a tiny rubber seal.

$5 is $5....if it stops the oil leak then why not...

Go spend an extra 4 bux for a poorer seal. You got good advice, which you asked for; use it.

Peace

Well seeing how the post is 5 years old, I would think he has already made his decision.
