Default Engine knock help?

Hey there,
I am very green under the ears when it comes to engine work. I can change the oil and that is where my expertise stops! My 99R/T DOHC is rattling when it idols and I have no idea what to do about it. Any suggestions?
Kid

Gonna have to be more descriptive than that. It could be the heat shield from the exhaust manifold.

I am not to sure how to describe it. It sounds like a rapping on the hood of some sort. I have a CF hood and I have had it for a few years but this is brand new. My buddy mentioned motor mounts but I don't know what those are or where they are. So I'm lost.

check your radiator brackets. mine was doing the exact same thing, emitting a godawful rattle at idle, and it turned out to be worn out radiator brackets. pop the hood & try to wiggle the radiator back & forth. if it moves a lot, theres your culprit. order a new set from any dodge dealership & you'll be good to go. they're very easy to change out too, just swap the old for the new.

I also have bad motor mounts but that usually doesn't cause rattling noises that im aware of, just vibrations. by the way motor mounts are what attach the motor to the frame of the car & are a common wear point in older cars like ours. all mine have worn out inserts & one is even cracked damn my lack of money!
