Default running rich

Okay I have this neon, I dont drive often. Its more of a sit and stare kind of car. Anyways it runs rich. Rich enough that I can smell gas in the oil and it makes the oil thinner. Here are a few things I think may cause it.

1. There is no thermostat, which keeps it in the warm up mode the entire time I am driving it because it nevers reaches anywhere near operating temp. Would that make it run so rich that it would make my oil gassy?

2. I looked on my muffler and there is a spark plug in a bung back there. I assume that aflame thrower kit? Do you think someone messed with the fuel pump on it which maybe raised the pressure to the fuel rail?

3. It has a indy intake, 60mm tb, and a mopar ecu. Would those mess with it to run rich? I use a full tank of 92 octane in about 150-160 miles.

What do you guys think? I need to pay the shop to fix it, I dont want to pay for the diagnosis.

you would have had to get a rfpr to increase pressure to the rail but i would get a air to fuel ratio gauge. there like 30 bucks and its a good thing to have. i thought i was runnin rich too and could smell gas. i have a mopar pcm too. but i installed a a/f ratio gauge and its doin exactly what it should be doin

Yea but i know how much gas its eating. Its not normal. And yes you can raise the pressure to the rail with the 58psi regulator in the back instead of the 49.... It burned twice the amount of gas as my r/t in a one hour trip... Not normal.

i think that flame thrower kit is doing it...but then you would be running one cylinder short.

I will try the pcv. The flamethrower kit isnt there. But I could tell at one time someone did, so I am just worried someone messed with the fuel and didnt care because the car was being sold. I dont drive it often, but I dont want to be soaking the pistons in gas. That leads to cylinder wall wear. Any input on how to make the flame thrower work again btw?
