All neons have rev limiters. The only exception is the 1995 ACR.

If you got ITB's put mechanical fuel injection on it (Hilborn style) or a Holley 450 cfm carburetor and get rid of the EFI

(cuz without another PCM like the AF/X, you will not change that rev limit!)

now wouldn't that be something, fuelie neon motor... run it to 12,000 billion RPM and kiss your rods goodbye

Something bugs me though, how could you obtain forged rods pistons and crank, but cant get a new PCM? Go here and check for international shipping.

Or you could go mechanical and bypass EFI altogether, heh heh heh

i had a 96 expresso and it didnt stutter at all, it would go as far as you could push it, are you sure they had rev limiters?? mine could have been bypassed... i know my 2000 has one for sure, but im not sure about it. Im not trying to act like an ***, i just really dont know... but i do know my 96 didnt cut out at all

It couldn't be bypassed unless you were running MS or ITBs as stated earlier. If you have a stock or Mopar PCM, then you had a rev limiter. It is there for a reason.

its a neon...it has a low rev limiter...big deal...thats never stoped us from going fast before...and have you heard a neon at its redline...why would you want to push it more????...i can understand the mopar ecu or even megasquirt but why remove the limiter completly thats asking for trouble...and futher more you dont even have enough mods to complain about the revlimiter yet imo...if you want more power buy more parts

now because we all know if the question is awnsered tuner kids will want to remove it for top speed...so i have this to say

if you want more top speed...a neon at 110-140 (r/t) is a scary ride why go for more i dont care what engine mods you have if you dont have a good suspension your done for XD...my 95gt with bad shocks rides 135 as smooth as the neon did at 50mph...this question has been asked a million times by people just wanting to push the limits of the neon for more speed the truth is just go get a racing car...the neon is not built for racing(except dirt tracks)...even though we all hate the saying it is still just a neon and we should respect the fact 0-60 is where the neons power is
