Default flywheel

Ok my question is a simple one that im sure i should know the answer to but here goes. The mod clutch on my sons 98 neon needs a flexplate or ring gear not sure what to call it on these setups he has managed to mess his up and destroyed my extra from when i changed to fidanza. Can i use the flex off of an auto trans or does it have to be a 5spd with modular clutch, and does anybody have one ill be dammed if hes gonna get me for 300-400 bucks for a fid or a c masters

If I remember correctly the flex plate off an Auto is the same as that for the Modular clutch.

I didn't see any difference in them when I got an engine from a neon w/ an auto tranny and put it in my neon w/ a manual tranny. Actually, I think I used the one that came w/ the motor. the Automatic.

yes, auto's and modular are the same. you can find one in any junk yard for around 10-20 dollars. i had one, but it went with the motor we sold to a customer.

I'll check my parts bin tomorrow. There's a good chance I got one, I'll send it to ya for whatever the shipping costs. I've gone through 5 motors, and each motor has had the flywheel bolted on it when I got it...Junkyards don't really take them off unless they sell the flywheel itself...which is very rare.
